DOUGHNUT DAY!!!

We had friends over for Doughnut Day.

We first read this wonderful book by Rod and Staff. It's a book filled with joy and happiness as they spend the day in doors baking doughnuts. They enjoy spending time with each other on a cold day. After they make the doughnuts they decide they are going to share them with some people and venture out to share there joy with others. We love reading this book during the winter.

Doughnut Day

After reading the book Doughnut Day, we made doughnuts with my doughnut maker which is so easy. We bought a muffin mix at the store or you can make your own.

Then we dip our doughnuts into powered sugar.

We added two chocolate chips for the eyes and a candy corn for the nose of the snowman.

They had fun creating there very own snowman. I know it's not healthy but we had fun and we got to spend time together.

Then we made doughnuts out of round card stock and construction paper. The construction paper was the frosting of the doughnut. I used a hole puncher for the sprinkles.

Ducky's finished doughnut craft. Little Miss Craft Queen:)

I can't get a serious picture out of this boy anymore. Fun Times!!!

Another get day of spending time together.

Have a blessed day!!!!

Homemade Croutons

In order for me to make a recipe it has to be easy. So first our children don't like the crust on there sandwiches so I cut it off and freeze it.

Ingredients needed:

Oil, I used Coconut Oil
Salt, I used Himalaya Salt
Any crust from your sandwich.
And seasoning of your choice, we used oregano, salt and pepper.

Mix all your ingredients together in a bowl.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Spread out onto a cookie sheet.  Put into oven and bake on 400 until bread is crunchy about 15 minutes.

They should also be golden brown.

Cut up your lettuce, baked chicken, and dressing. We made a Caesar salad but whatever you choose would be great with these croutons. Spread Croutons on your salad and Enjoy. I like these much better than the store bought.

Peppermint Shake

I know you probably have extra candy canes laying around from Christmas. We made a very easy shake with Frozen Yogurt,Almond Milk and a Candy cane. Blend it together for a Delicious peppermint shake.

Easy to Make Laundry Detergent

I couldn't believe how easy it is to make your own laundry detergent without all those chemicals and it's so easy even our children can do it. They are learning to work together and they are getting a math lesson all while making homemade laundry detergent.

Ingredients you need are:

Arm and Hammer Super Washing Soda (1 cup)
Borax (1 cup)
Kirk's Castile Soap (one bar)

I used two cups of each of the Borax and Super Washing Soda to get more out of our money.
DMan and Ducky are putting the first ingredient into our box, which you can use anything to store your laundry detergent. We started out by making a little just to try it out.

Next they put in the Borax.

Finally they shredded the Kirk's Castile Soap into our box. You can use a food processor for this if you want but I would dedicate it only to this project.

The Kirk's Castille soap does have a little scent but not strong at all.

So here is our test. And surprisingly our clothes came out nice and fresh. Really that had no smell to them but I heard the smell isn't good for anyways. Our clothes were clean and I'm definitely going to be using this instead of buying the laundry detergent at the store to money. I have left over Borax, Washing Soda and Soap, so I'm not spending any more money. I'm very happy with our new discovery.

Let me know if you try this and what you think.

Snowman Craft

I saw this craft on Pinterest and loved it. I got this craft from Oopsey Daisy Blog
You take equals parts of glue and shaving cream and mixed together and then have your children paint it onto a piece a paper, when it dries it will be puffy like a big puff of snow. Very easy and fun as you will see in our children's eyes:)

Outline your snowman on paper with the shaving cream and glue and let dry.

Most children love to be messy, they had a blast with this craft.

Cut out your hat, eyes, mouth, buttons, nose and arms out of construction paper, you can make a scarf if you like.

Here is your finished Snowman craft. You can read a book along with the craft or just do the craft for a day of fun. I love how it comes out puffy and looks like a snowman!! Living in Florida this is the closest we will get to a snowman this year!!!

Have a blessed day!!
